A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Aguas Calientes, Peru by TravelPod blogger Dell_abbs titled "Nice to Macchu Piccu" Dell_abbs's travel blog entry: "We met our travel agent at his office, he hired a taxi to the "bus station", where we took a taxi to Ollyantatambo - about an hour and a half from Cuzco. There we took a train to Aguas Callientes, which arrived at 1.30pm. We were supposed to be met by a lady from our hostel... she never came. It turns out our hostel never had a booking in our name, but the staff there were really good and made all the required phonecalls. Our guide came over at 8pm and talked us through the following day´s procedures... he also said he would leave our entry tickets at reception. He didnt! So, at 4.30am we woke up, bleary eyed and trudged in the rain (It wasnt supposed to rain) to the bus stop. We had no tickets, but decided to go anyway. We waiterd in the rain - wearing the worlds most expensive emergency ponchos - for the bus to take us up the mountain. When we arrived it took another hour or so of phonecalls by the macchu piccu staff to find our ticket booking.. but finally we found our tickets and we were allowed into the Lost City of the Incas!!!! And what an amazing place it was - we couldnt tell at this time as the whole place was shrouded in cloud, which we were assured would burn off by 9am. After a quick look around and the obligatory llama photo we wennt and got our tickets for Wayna Picchu, the mountain made ...
